can not come soon enough. As you may know, I have started a ‘countdown to E3 section… What I didn’t bank on was this… well… truth be told I did kind of know…

OK. As if I wasn’t gritting my teeth waiting for Ocarina of Time (which will arrive in June incidentally) and MGS to warrant buying a 3DS, Iwata-san decides to seal the deal- with this image…

as far as I am concerned, the 3DS is a hand held console, that I can play most of my favorite games on (eventually). Now, take one of my favorite games of all time (Mario 64), make a proper sequel (none of this ‘sunshine rubbish’), directly referencing one of the greatest platformers of all time (SMB3- as implyed by the tail on the ‘O’) on said hand held, and… well, you probably know the rest!

The Mario series will get a proper (and deserved) retrospective closer to June, but for now, stay tuned for game 2 of the countdown.

YES YES, I know what you are thinking- ‘why are you talking about bloody video games when you should be talking about Japan’. I like Japan, I like video games, Japan likes video games, and I am killing time til i get more photos up. case. closed. 🙂
