Ise, day 1, part 2.

After finding our hotel and dumping our bags, we decided to go walkies.
Now… I must confess that i really enjoy riding a bike, but in Japan, it scares the crap out of me. I also told my boss with complete confidence that i would NOT be riding a bicycle on holiday.
That lasted about half an hour!
It was great fun though, and brought back fond memories of my bike ride in izu.
We went to Ise grand shrine, which consists of Geku (outer) and Naiku (inner) shrines. They are rebuilt from scratch every 20 years, culminating in a ‘transportation of the God’ ceremony. For the full story, go here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ise_Grand_Shrine
