These were taken by my significant other, about 2 days after I arrived in Japan. We were walking around and there was a neighborhood party happening, which involved hammering rice into a thick, sticky pulp. It is part of a new year traditional food I think. Anyway, I was invited to try both the process…

Still here!
I am still here- had a great few days off in Tokyo. The Sunday roast was great, the rugby game… not so great, but no denying that Ireland schooled England! We also enjoyed a very random trip to a cat cafe! Back to updating, designing, and things like paying bills.

approaching 100 days.
I was planning to wait to write this until the 7th of April (which would be 100 days in Japan). However, the last 2 and-a-half months (and the last 4 days in particular) have compelled me to start writing about my experiences, thoughts and views over said time. It might take a while, but I will keep…

Back to work…
So after a weekend of going stir crazy, I was back to work today. It seems that the Japanese are a pretty tough bunch. The events of the weekend will linger in the minds of the Japanese for a long time, but the feeling here seems to be not to dwell too much on things.…
